Early Dismissal. Since the students at St. John’s met (and exceeded) their Walk-a-Thon goal, we will have early school dismissal on Tuesday, November 21 and Tuesday, December 19. School will dismiss at 12:10 PM for bus riders and 12:15 PM. for car riders. There will be no Seymour buses after school on either of these days. The Sauers bus will run as normal.

Poinsettias! The Class of 2018 is taking orders for poinsettias until Sunday, November 19. Order forms are in the narthex. Each poinsettia is $10.

The Class of 2018 is collecting orders for Snappy Tomato Pizza until Sunday, November 5. All proceeds go toward the class trip. Each pizza is $12 and comes with choice of toppings. Find an 8th grader and place an order.

Thanks to our students, teachers, staff — and especially — to all of you. With your help, we raised over $13,000 at our first annual Walk-a-Thon for St. John’s Sauers Lutheran School. Your assistance and generosity will directly benefit our students and improve our ability to provide them with an excellent education. Again, our thanks.

Dear Parents,

The theme for the year is “Run with Perseverance” is based on the Bible reference in Hebrews 12:1. Travelling through the school year with all its successes and challenges is much like running a long-distance race. There are times that students can be tempted to give up or even not put in the full effort that is required. That lack of effort can be applied to both our faith and to our school work. However, God is our life line and the one who will grant us success if we hand over our cares to Him. Please be encouraged to pray for the students and their teachers during these moments of struggle. As God hears our prayers, He will indeed provide what is needed, much like that extra burst of energy that distance runners have toward the end of the race. Trust in the Lord always and He will energize all those who rely on Him with His Spirit. So, run with perseverance through this school year!

Yours in Christ,

Mr. B
